Lack of work is a big red flag if you ask me. Is there anyone else who has less and less work, who is less and less busy?

Honestly, I've been slammed since we all started working from home. Endless meetings, probably 2 people's amount of work. I'm actually fatigued and burned out I'm so busy. FWIW maybe it depends on what area you are working in.
I'm in the engineering/design group., Warren Tech Center.
Still love my job and my group. I'm hanging on and hoping for the best.
Knowing how bad things are puts working hard in perspective.
My advice if you aren't busy: tell your boss. Make yourself useful. They likely know you aren't busy and you might save yourself in the next layoff!
It depends on who they are friends with. When you see people not being able to achieve things because the action of management and their friends, then you should be worried. I feel like the “poor performer” and “doesn’t have work” excuses are more to boost some peoples egos, justify some people’s bad behavior, and scare everybody else into working even harder despite the low moral that the fear of losing your job creates.
