Thread regarding Crown Castle International Corp. layoffs

Some of you just don’t get it

We work for a well run company. You say all the talents are gone but the stock is still beating the Dow average. We raised the earning expectations. We’re hiring like crazy and despite what people are saying here, there hasn’t been any mass resignations.

We have new leaders who are bringing ideas and accountability to a growing company. The environment doesn’t get any better than that.

Do I wish we had a better telecommuting policy? Absolutely. We’re not perfect but we’re better than anything else out there. That’s why most of the complainers haven’t resigned yet.

You might not like it, but @bndu+1hJAlMW2 makes a good point.

There’s truth to what everybody is saying here. No there hasn’t been mass resignations but we have lost more that a few people and they were all for the most part high performers who can’t be easily replaced. I’m not even sure how Crown Castle is still going as strong as is it after being left with the mediocre talent we have. Has Crown gotten “too big to fail”? I guess time will tell because a big recession is coming and hopefully Crown won’t have to lay people off.

It takes a special kind of person to write a post and not defend it. Sadly, those same types of people are in charge of the decision making process at CC. It sounds like their minds are already made up.

When you avoid discourse and taking in new information, which would help to improve the models for reality in your brain, you end up with a failed system. It is only a matter of time before people like this OP completely destroy CC.

Welp “you don’t count” stellar example of the exact attitude hundreds of people are complaining about. You are part of the problem versus legacy Crown from 5 years ago.

Fiber division doesn’t count. Most of the fiber peeps came from lightower who we never considered to be real crown castle employees. We wanted the fiber. We didn’t want the people or their culture.

No mass resignations? How about the exodus of like 50 people from the Fiber division to Lightpath and others in the NorthEast over the last 2 years? Something stinks, people don’t quit the job, they quit the Manager.

If you're one of the people at CC working on the top floor, it is easy to look through the tinted windows of your brand new Porsche and wonder, "what are they complaining about? We're doing so well on the stock market!" Then I submit that you don't actually work here. You don't know what IC's do for your company, what their work load is, or what the concerns and fears are. They're not just peons you pass in the elevator everyday to practice your folksy yet accessible Hillary Clinton-esque uasi-human smile on. Stock performance and revenue can NOT be your o ly your only metrics for success. Crown Castle's revenue is locked in for the next 20+ years. Literally, everyone at the company could be replaced with squir els, and Crown would still make the same amount of rental revenue despite its incompetence. It really shows your level of concern for the people you lead.

Some people will never be happy… that is all it is. If the things that they are complaining about today were “fixed” tomorrow, they would be complaining about something else next week.

There haven’t been any mass resignations - since this term is made up and doesn’t really mean anything. There has been a bunch of people leaving one at a time, and that adds up.

The Dow Average: do you mean the Dow Jones industrial average? DJI is down -10.74% ytd. CCI is down -14.11% ytd. This may involve a learning curve for some people. CCI isn’t beating the Dow average year to date for 2022. This dummy is literally lying to you. Assuming this is a different poster than the post they are referencing - this OP didn’t check the information they were regurgitating before posting.

Well run from what aspect though. You're focusing on the stock performance, we're speaking as employees first, not shareholders.

No one is saying as a shareholder the experience has been degraded, we're saying that as employees it went from a place no one would dream of leaving to a place where we're all open to other offers and are having extreme difficulty hiring because our pay hasn't kept up with the market.
