RSUs are paid out if you're 55 and over... know of two confirmed cases of that from previous rounds

Layoffs will happen. It has happened before, and will happen again. Schwab has a plan. The plan. No, I'm not talking about their retirement services. Schwab has a plan which they will execute. What has happened before will happen again.

It was a serious question. I know they payout retention bonuses if they lay you off even if you didn’t make it to the payout date.

Maybe they are taking about 401K match, which vest immediately. Obviously unvested RSUs will not be paid out. Sabbatical time will be paid out if you have already applied and it is scheduled.

If Schwab lays you off do they payout all unvested RSU’s and retention bonuses?

Pretty simple to know if you are on layoff list.

Do you say YES to everything leadership says or do you challenge their stupid ideas. The latter gets you on the list.

Schwab never takes into account a "layoff list". They will decided for themselves who is best to let go, and who to retain. So you can just stop the wishful thinking. They would prefer those that wants to leave just simply resign.

It's not a matter of if but a matter of when. I've been at Schwab long enough to see multiple different layoff rounds. Schwab is notorious for layoffs in my opinion.

And let (make) everyone who values the clients and people leave. No room for such antiquated notions here.

Since there are people who wished to be laid off, may be it will happen sooner. Schwab should just get a layoff list going and have those people who wished to be laid off sign up to be laid off. Then get rid of them first. So sick of people like that with their superior attitudes. Let those who value their jobs stay.
