Thread regarding Sam's Club layoffs

Repost from the Walmart side

They came after the claims clerk, but I was not a claims clerk so I said nothing.
They came after the receiving clerk, but I was not a receiving clerk so I said nothing.
They came after the personnel manager, but I was not a personnel manager so I said nothing.
They came after the pharmacists, but I was not a pharmacist so I said nothing.
They came after the Ethics department, but I was not in Ethics so I said nothing.
Then they came after cash office, but I did not work in the cash office so I said nothing.
Then they came after me, and there was nobody left to speak on my behalf.

Come on, people! Wise up! It is way past time to UNIONIZE!!!!

Get that union started. Cashiers are next you watch. Only 1 allowed to open at a time in Detroit.

To stop unfair abuse towards some associates that way everyone is treated equal.

To all you union haters who claim that all they do is take your money and then do nothing for you.

If that is true, then why does the company have a seizure whenever the subject comes up? Why does management train regularly on recognizing and ki----g union attempts to organize? Why did they close a store in Canada that successfully unionized? Why did they close stores for "plumbing problems" that just coincidentally had well established efforts to unionize?

Do you really think Walmart wants to protect you from the scourge of union dues?

Wake the f%$k up! It's time to do it!

ok ok ok... yes unions are not the saviors that many would want them to be. But there has to be something between no protection at all from the abuses of management and paying large fees for protection that really is no protection at all. If not for unions and legislation we all would be working 16 hour days with little or no break. Instead of coachings we would endure beatings ( sometimes to the death, accidentally of course . OOPs ) Rest assured every manager working for Walmart either has or is actively seeking ways to abuse workers and still be within company guidelines. ( remember playing favs is abuse of those a manager disfavors. ) Unions may not be the answer but we do truly need answers.

Unions want money and that is about it.

You know that associate that just got hired and then quits before 2 weeks. Well you are still doing 3 jobs or more to keep the business going. A year later and the union will be asking you to support the union and it's agenda while everything around you stays the same.

Unions also have that same tendency or behavior to favor those who are pro union while pushing and almost ostracizing those who question the union's agenda.

That would not solve the problem. Only cost you more.

I'd give 'em a buck a month if that protected us from the abuse of management.

It's a no brainer.

They came after a percentage of my paycheck, but I did not want more overpaid supervisors, so I said nothing.

If you do not like managers, leads and supervisors, why would you want more of that with more micromanagement?

Of course unions want Walmart Inc under them because even if they get just $1 for each associate that works for Walmart Inc the union would be getting $2 mil a month and $24 mil a year. Gee I wonder why unions want Walmart Inc.
