If you're worried about being laid off, then do something about it. Too many people I know are constantly worried about possible layoffs but are doing nothing to prepare and make their situation better. People need to sit down, look at their options, and make a plan. You have to look out for your best interest. The company is certainly not going to do that for you.

Ryan, bruh, congrats!
Nah, bruh. 3 raises in one year. I ain't goin' nowhere...
I was laid off from IBM a few years ago. It was as exciting as the first time I was laid. Now I try to get laid off from everyplace I work. But so far I have better luck getting laid than laid off.
Why worry when there's tons of great paying jobs out there?
Most pay more so an RA would be a blessing in disguise for many.
I was RA in the middle of the pandemic, May 2020. All I can tell you is that it was the best thing that happened to me. I was not making to much money in IBM but I was scare to make a move. I was like you all complaining but then scare.
Can't speak for others but I'm personally eager to get laid off. I've never been fired or RA'd or w/e so I wonder what that's like. It'll probably be the most exciting thing I've had happen to me at IBM in my tenure here.
You should not worry at any times, you should update your resume, interview and get the heck out ASAP. The only guarantee with IBM is that you will get laid off.
