Thread regarding Allstate Corp. layoffs

SO MANY CLAIMS REPS HAVE LEFT!

I am SHOCKED by the number of adjusters who have left Allstate. No announcements are made. Need to call a colleague on another team? First - check to see if they still work here! It seems since I started 4.5 years ago, more than half are gone, the majority leaving AFTER the TFG fiasco. I wonder why so many have left? I know what I think. What does everyone else have to say?

To the property rep who fears leaving: why not accept one of the offers? I gave up PTO & couldn’t purchase more. In reality I was SO OVERWORKED I would work on my days off. So what did I give up? I gave up the stress & now make more money. Also, I was allowed to adjust my hours so that my day ends at 4pm. No sitting at my desk til 5:30 so I could handle inquiry calls on rental where I have no autho to help. Now because I finish at 4pm, every day feels like a vacation!

I’m a property claim rep of 7 years and I fear leaving as I love my manager. That said I’m at wits end w how we now operate. Customers absolutely hate virtual. Managers can no longer join employees in the field to train/support them.
I have recently started applying and the offers I’m getting are shockingly higher than what I make here. Only sacrifice is PTO. I have had offers making more than my manager whose job sounds absolutely horrid.
The general convo among our tenured claims reps is always about where whose going and how happy those that have left are.

I’m not sure what that bonus program was. Nobody was moved or impressed. It didn’t move the needle an inch. That tells you what the employees think of the product and morale right now. Yes they are almost all trying to find better jobs.

Allstate attempts to become a modern version of itself through transformation but the mentality of the ivory tower leaders are still stuck with the Sears and Roebuck mindset. They have never been able to get beyond their past identity.

The ol’ “deactivation date” is my favorite! Maybe someday it will be mine!

I left when my co worker left and told me about a better opportunity at a competitor. We both do exactly what we did for Allstate yet make 10k more a year, plus we both got bonuses last year. We have less claims and the work atmosphere is healthy.
If Allstate wants to stop losing adjusters, they need to pay more

Quite simple really. Adjusters talk. When one leaves for higher pay and manageable workload they report back. Allstate failed to adjust. Our workloads are unacceptable. Our pay is below industry average. Our culture could not be worse.
Tease employees w a possible bonus for customer retention. Laughable. Hard to do with a product that has deteriorated to a point that agents will blatantly admit that they wouldn’t sell to close family or friends.
TG is not the answer. We all knew it would take time for the repercussions to show and here we go. It will only get worse. Stay tuned.
