In certain cases if you are leaving Ford to go to a competitor I know they will walk you out immediately. If you go to put in a two week notice and they walk you out do you get paid for two weeks or is it an automatic termination?

I didn't say where I was going and was walked out immediately. This was in June 2006 after 13 years in the company. I was not paid for any work after the day I left nor for any unused vacation. Don't resign until the last possible day before starting your new job. If you get 2 weeks pay from Ford, it's then gravy.
I don’t think people are “running their mouths” exactly. When you give your two weeks notice your manager is told by HR to ask where you’re going followed by a more direct “are you going to a competitor “. Since most people aren’t comfortable lying when they know others will eventually learn the truth they answer. The answer should be “I’d rather not say”. You’re not admitting but also not lying.

Several years ago I had a direct report who resigned to go to a competitor. When HR found out where they were going they had to leave immediately. I don’t know if there’s an official policy about pay but I had to have several “debates” with HR to make sure this person was paid for the two weeks. Don’t tell them where you’re going!
My understanding is if they walk you out immediately, you would still get compensated for the two weeks.
Just push the terminate button and follow the instruction. You don’t need to say anything to your boss about anything. Put the date you want to leave which should be the next day..f the two weeks..and there you are done..a few days before pushing the button..back ur stuff up form computer and phone..erase your phone delete all files from your laptop especiallly the valuable ones for your team/boss. Let them call you on how they want to deal with the phone computer etc. Also, have a month or two pay so you can ride out the bs with the last check and the benifits hotline.. I had to light them up more than once bc they should give you your last check by the end of month but it may take another pay period to send you the check and do the ins and outs with the vacation. If you had a ford vehicle then you should turn it in last day worked. I kept it for two more business days (and the weekend) and got nasty phone calls to turn it in from the goon squad at wh garage. I thought they were going to call the police on me. They asked me to pay the lease out for the current month that I quit cause we pay in arrens? Wtf…in the end I never want to hear the word Ford again!!!!!!!
