I get so annoyed by those who try to justify everything that is wrong at Macy's on the pretext that it is retail and that it is difficult to work everywhere in retail. What a disgusting lie. I had to move and that is the only reason why I started working here, otherwise I previously worked in a much better retail company. It's not retail, it's Macy's!

Macy’s still likes to presell, have 3 or 4 day One Day Sales, and to have cosmetic associates call customers on the phone to get a gift with purchase. These are some of Macy’s old and still favorite ways to get sales.
Working in retail was one of the worst experiences but glad I did it at a young age. Really showed me what not to do as I got older. Working for an insurance company was not great either talk about a cold business. Finally got into an occupation that is worth it and will not go back to retail ever. Only people who benefit are the higher level execs and or owner of the business while the workers get the short end of the stick.
Read the other retail postings. They all read the same.

I've worked in retail for over 30 years and I have never seen anything like these clowns. After going through a second buyout Macys has completely gutted any resemblance of what a department store is supposed to be. I don't know maybe they are too busy with all of their politically correct stupidity who knows. Alot of online customers are complaining about all the mistakes being made by the stores and the warehouses,receiving the wrong merchandise, damaged merchandise etc. Many customers just want to see nicer merchandise coming into my store. We are a smaller door so I know that won't happen. People do want to shop on store i hear it constantly . They are tired of the Karen Scott ,Charter Club cr-p. The only thing they are pouring money into in my store is Backstage and Fulfillment thats it. Backstage has its customer base but those customers generally don't shop the rest of the store. I don't think its a great strategy
I get what you are saying, but Some are just as bad. I came from Sears/Kmart and it was just as bad there. I am seeing lots of similarities. Wouldn’t be surprised if M went into bankruptcy within the next decade.
macys is a corrupt, backstabbing ,lying deceitful company who throws anyone into the fire as it see fit... once you get that you will be alive
