Salary always in catchup mode

We are always behind on pay the last decade or so. We used to lead now we are constantly trying to catch up. Except when we can cut. We instantly cut benefits. Somehow those decisions are fast but raising compensation requires years of study. The longer you stay with exxonmobil the more money you lose!

Executive pay seems higher than average. The New Hire CFO getting $3 million per month is likely industry leading.

All Executives likely to get huge bonuses based on profits due to price of commodities and nothing to do with their performance.

If you are consistently ranked OwD or O, then your pay is pretty competitive. Otherwise, EM pays 50th percentile max. Twenty years ago it was much better but mgmt has slowly realized that paying up for talent in a commodity business is likely not worth it. Specialty businesses and industries are where the value added pay is

Cut HR some slack on their timeliness. It takes a lot of time and effort to manipulate the data to support the answer management told you to get. You know. Like we are competitive and there is a future with this company.
