Chevron Permian Pay

XTO aka ExxonMobil Permian employee in Midland here. Curious what Chevron employees are making. I suspect Chevron is paying more. Most engineers mid to lte career at XTO make $250 to $300k. No bonus. 10% premium which could disappear at any time. We have the pension and 401k match. Top performers get 200 shares a year that vest 50% at 3 yrs and rest at 7 yrs.

@qtx you should venture out a bit and talk with people at other companies. I knew a former Anadarko guy not that long out of school that was pulling in over $200K in the Permian with some sort of hardship allowance. Couldn't believe it.

Just because Chevron pays us cr@p wages doesn't mean every company does.

@2pqf: "PSG 26 can make $250-300k and earns stock options plus bonus. Heard that typically 1000-1200 stock options shares are granted annually as well. True?" Yes. The best part? In the Permian, we just feed the data into computer programs, and it pops out the answers.

You can see the annual stock grants on the internal web site. They vary by stock price.

Do you like doing engineering stuff and actually exploring for and getting oil and gas out of the ground? Then I’d stay at “double cross” aka Exxon. Here at Chevron our future is low carbon, artificial intelligence and machine learning.

No need for petrotechs, here, within a year or two our borg of artificially intelligent machines will be linked and learning in the cloud with only a couple of contract Microsoft and Schlumberger overseers needed while we make billions sucking CO2 out of the air and pumping it in the ground.

250K would be PSG26 or roughly 15 years experience as an engineer. With bonus etc that could be $350-400K.

Most CVX engineers would like you to please pass that thing around that you're smoking because it must be some really good stuff to keep you that delusional and also share a sip of your big glass of koolaid, lmao!
