In the heyday of Big Oil, big companies swallowed up smaller companies left and right. Now, the astute smaller companies are picking up the Big Oil properties that they're too bloated and slow-moving to handle profitably. Expect this trend to continue.
No doubt it’ll be more discount shopping for Hilcorp. Many fortunes have been made picking up Big Oil’s scraps.
Alaska was a losing proposition anyways...
