Thread regarding First American Corp. layoffs

Monopoly Industry.

The industry is lead by a small group of dinosaur underwriter companies. Escrow officers typically jumping from company to company within the industry constantly looking for greener pastures. Very few are happy and fewer would recommend the career to a friend or relative. Managers including branch managers in most cases do not have the skills to manage which makes life horrible for everyone. Sometimes branches will close after years of mismanagement and ignoring problems. Many times managers best qualification s are simply being from the industry or "studied at some lowly school" not a degree. That is why cliches are important to them think outside the box, next shiny thing, be careful what you wish for, if you were in a foxhole who do you want with you etc. I hope that monopoly status goes away and other multi carrier insurance companies are able to compete. That would help to make the the escrow officer an attractive career, bring escrow costs down and streamline the industry. Managers would have to be more qualified and actually manage and know something about the golden rule. Arizona is a state that needs more regulation to lower consumer escrow costs, I would encourage
activists.
