The "astronaut" construct was bad from the start. Sure, lets identify key contributors in key roles where it would be an obvious hit to the daily operations if removed and give them a protected non-sensical status. But then let's burn the world down around them, provide them no support and then continue to whittle away at the rest of the organization. Question isn't so much are astronauts safe...no one is safe as the noose tightens. Question should be why would an astronaut stay? if your spaceship is hurtling towards the sun, best to cut your tethers...

"Are “astronauts” at risk??"
Good question. I'd like to know, too. If it were strictly up to FB, all he would need to know is that you are remote.
Believe it! Professionals at all levels are jumping the sinking ship. Look out for yourself!
10% laid off end of today in Banking
My trip for next week got cancelled for no reason. Looks like I'm getting the axe.
I was already laid off yesterday.
These massive RIFs are indicative of a reactionary CEO that can't manage expenses or forecast them. It should be a point of embarrassment vs badge of honor for "managing expense pressures." While continuing to tank productivity, quality and morale and revenue most likely. It is incomprehensible as to how this joker has any credibility on Wall Street.
Frank gave up 100% of his Salary in 2020! He is the most generous.
(The $1,000,000 salary portion. Not the bonus. Let's not be ridiculous here...)
Anticipating a rough holiday season the execs are tightening “our belts” not theirs. The RIF is absolutely happening unfortunately. Just once during these exercises I would like to see our execs say I realize times are tough and will take a pay cut myself. I really don’t need to take an annualized salary of 50+ million this year. Instead those impacted are going to have to worry about how to feed their families during the holidays amongst some of the worst inflation in the past 40 years.
Are “astronauts” at risk??
Bank solutions again too
So sad,we used to be such a nice large company with a good reputation and culture. How could it all have gone downhill so fast…my heart goes out to all who are concerned about losing their jobs. Myself included.
It can always get pushed or pulled a few days, but it’s definite, at least in digital solutions and probably a lot of other BUs. I heard first hand. Brutal.
Will people be told on Monday? Or will they be told beforehand and Monday is last day?
