Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Health Insurance increases

as a "retiree" (I got surplussed in 2020) I get stuff from ATT relating to medical even though I am only doing care plus. I just got information for 2023 and wow. How do people afford these costs? 804 per month for individual with 30% co-insurance? and 1123 for the "best" plan? How much is the cost for internal folks or folks who get the subsidy?

I am looking at the brochure as I type. This is for an individual (retiree not 65 yet) in Network:

High Deductible Broad:
Monthly $125
Deductible $3,000
Co-Insurance 30%
Max OOP $7,500

High Deductible Select :
Monthly $75
Deductible $3,000
Co-Insurance 30%
Max OOP $7,500

Low Deductible Select:
Monthly: $330
Deductible: $1,000
Co-insurance 10%
Copay $25
Max OOP $5,000

I took the time to do this due to some of the disinformation I see to this post.

It must be where you are located. In the Southeast for individual the High Deductible Broad (like silver currently) for individual monthly is $125, $3000 deductible (Year). $7500 max oop. (Year) Retiree rates.

You call that health insurance? Please call it what it is, catastrophic insurance. Don't use it unless you are on your dying bed. Talk about benefit erosion!

The best IBEW plan is:
• 2023 - $168 individual, $441 family.
Deductibles
• 2023 - $900 individual, $1,800 family.
In network out of pocket
• 2023 - $3,750 individual, $7,500 family.
I'm reading the contract summary. Not seeing the copay percentage.

It can suck if you are unemployed before 65 and eligible for Medicare. Good Luck

We tried to tell you to save some of your wages when you were working. It just didn't resonate with you. Now your busted a-s broke. Who is to blame here? I say you, and you only.

That $825 plan for and individual and child also has no coverage for out of network unless it’s emergency room. When sh&t hits the fan and your dying in the hospital you don’t necessarily think of asking the doc if they are in network. They do have a high deductible $15k max out of pocket plan which of course has a higher cost than pay year if 325.
