Culture of fear that stifled open communication and punish people for speaking up. This permeates all parts of the company.

Was there an opportunity for someone to stop the work to ensure the conditions are safe?

Understaffed + overworked = undesired outcome

More people required Outside of Houston where the work is being done. Move people closer to the wellhead so they can focus on important work not just make PowerPoint.

@vgx That’s every operating company ever. This good ol’ boy nepotism BS is getting people injured and in extreme cases getting them ki---d.

To all O&G managers: stop picking people who you personally like and you know aren’t qualified to fill critical roles. It’s a business, not a dating app.

Keep cutting to the bone, go ahead. Realize we are one major incident away from a $45 stock price. Predictive metric? You bet.

That’s what happens when management push out qualified candidates and install their favorites, often inexperienced people with less than 50% of the skills needed for the job. There is little training for new comers. The ranking punishes those who appears to be ill suited to the job. The managers who is responsible will never admit they are wrong and some don’t care. The arrogant ones will never ask for help. Mistakes are pinned on someone else or swept under the rug.

These examples are caused by failures on a management level. I wonder if any of them will be held responsible for creating a work environment of understaffing, poor maintenance, negligence, and inexperienced hands.

This is a direct result of covid reductions and cost saving measures from the past 2 years.
