Revenue from data?: blast from the past

Quote from mark fields 2016

“Ford CEO Mark Fields says the data being collected by automakers about their customers' driving belongs to those customers.”

“Ford executive Jim Farley suggested that Ford had data that could show traffic violations by drivers of its cars.
"We know everyone who breaks the law; we know when you're doing it," he said in 2014. He and the company eventually backed away from the statement, saying Ford does not have data showing driving activity.”

"I know for a fact that a police agency used Ford to verify the location of a vehicle used in commission of a crime. It was a big hush but they did it. Bottom line is you can be tracked"

Not if you find the TCU (cellular modem) and snip the wires.

So if customers own the data , and data is future revenue stream, then can the customer get paid for the data? Good question.

LOL remember that!
Also remember Moonbeam saying that they would be working with politicians to pass legislation to legalize the data Ford has been collecting and selling. This was in a town hall where people were questioning Moonbeam about violating customers privacy
