Thread regarding Pioneer Natural Resources Co. layoffs

Quitting without a job lined up

I don't know anyone who quit without getting a better offer somewhere else, but I read here that there are such cases. Really?? In fact, I wouldn't be surprised, because this place has become unbearably miserable.

At the end of the day being in a dead end job where it doesn’t matter how well you perform, how many hours you work, how many training courses you take wears you down. You’re just a cog who doesn’t matter. That’s not good for mental health.

Don’t think that you are the only one that doesn’t feel any support from pioneer. This has been happening for years and has gotten exponentially worse over the last few years.

A “better” job is relative. Some see “better” as higher pay…that’s what pioneer thrives on! Others see “better”as more work/life balance, happiness, appreciation and satisfaction in the job they do. These people have/will leave. This is what scares pioneer; to know there are companies that pay 80% of the pay, but the sacrifices you must make are a fraction of what you deal with at pioneer.

It’s all about choices and how much money it takes to compensate for what you will give up. Good luck on your decision.
