Oracle CX layoffs: What customers should do right now

That said, enterprises -- especially those with large investments in Oracle CX technologies -- should call their sales reps and customer success reps now, said Liz Miller, Constellation Research analyst. It's not yet time for enterprise IT buyers to shop for a rip and replace of Oracle CX, but it is time to have some "honest and pointed conversations," she said.

Salesforce should be announcing an offering for a "pain free" move from Oracle CX any day now. I suspect a ton of CIOs will take them up on it.

Great advice, what exactly would these sales reps or CSMs say to their clients?

They know nothing. They get their news from these boards, not leadership.

What we do know is that there's ZERO strategy on CX moving forward. The fact they've cut both engineering and product management is very telling that leadership intends to wind this suite down over the next 12-18 months. You don't cut essential staff if you want to grow a product suite. Marketing and sales, I get the argument of a downturn/revenue per head, but not engineering. This is a classic wind-down operation.

OK, If I were CEO of a company and I had Oracle CX technologies, the first thing I would do is fire my CIO, I wouldn't call Oracle, I would say nothing, but I would start making plan and setting up a program yo remove it all from my organization. Why? because support, development and subsequent quality will do nothing but degrade. It will not get better after this episode. It only gets worse. First it will go into sustaining, then sustaining will slow to a stop even though there will be claims they are still supporting it. bug fixes will take longer and longer to repair until you are stuck with a non supported piece of software on a non supported OS on a piece of hardware what was ready for the crusher 3 years ago.

It is going to hurt no matter what you do, better now than later.
