I’ve referred two different people for two different positions. After two weeks they were told by HR that the position no longer existed. A week after that, they were contacted by HR saying that a new position was opened that they should apply for.
Each supposed new position was reporting to the same managers, for the same jobs with the same job description. The only thing different was the job ID number. I contacted HR and informed them that my referral previously was word for word exactly the same on the job title, reporting managers and description. HR said since its a new job ID its a new posting so the referral fee given to me did not apply.
My reply was “So you guys collect the referrals, once you get enough, you close out the posting, reopen the same posting with a new Job ID and contact the referrals given to you to keep from giving out referral money to employees, is that right?” No response we given.
