Thread regarding Oracle Corp. layoffs

Does Layoff Agreement have non-compete?

I don't have any form of non-compete as it stands. Does anyone know what the severance agreement looks like? I have less than 1 year here so my incentive to agree to some bloated severance contract is non-existent.

If I get laid off from Oracle can I just create my own variation of the same sh-t and compete with them in the same sector I worked in? I'm already doing all the heavy lifting anyways.

You can't steal or use intellectual property, but short of that you are good to go. There is nothing in the agreement that I received that said anything.

Finding job at Workday would be sweet revenge -- given the history with PeopleSoft, the corporate culture at Workday is hilariously anti-Oracle. Plus they treat employees well and actually give raises and perks.

As long as you’re not blatantly copying you can openly compete with them or anyone else. Have at it, F LE

It depends on where you live. In California, non-competes are uneforceable. Feel free to go to Workday, SAP, and Salesforce and show LJE/SC what they are missing.
