Thread regarding Charles Schwab Corp. layoffs

This has become such a toxic company

I used to like working here, but things have changed drastically in the last several years. Now the culture is toxic, the environment is toxic, management is toxic, and even my coworkers have gone from friendly and helpful to competitive and hostile. I've been looking for a way out and I can't wait for the day I can say goodbye to this place for good.

4 waves and I predict each one will be a s h I t show. Too bad we have to wait until 2023 to see that disaster.

To whoever asked when is CD1: Q1, Q2 etc.
There are 4 waves of conversions planned from ~March 2023 to Nov 2023. Therefore, there are actually 4 CD1's. People are not clear if they are talking about the first or last wave.

CD1 never going to happen, but Leadership will never admit to it.

I heard that most orgs will not have layoffs until CD1. If you are in an area that is working directly on integration, and delivery of CD1, then you're safe. This is like all hands on deck, and steam forward at all costs.

Alignments are done by LS. Financial transactions are done by CS.

Yeah it is getting extremely toxic. Leadership is so focused on CD1 that they are willing to sacrifice any one or anything to make it. They will pick up the pieces left after.

@nla: you got the wrong CS, but the rest was helpful (I have a similar alignment story myself)

As a customer, I have noticed the same thing. They use to be helpful and now they are money hungry id--ts.

I took my car in for a front end alignment. I normally take it to my dealership but they don't work Saturdays. Took it to CS and got the once over with "it needs more than a front end alignment" and that they would have to order a $200 part to fix it, total including the part would come to around $500. My response was "he-l no" and I'll take it to the dealership for them to fix it. Took it to the dealership a few days later and they did the front end alignment and was told there was no other work that needed to be done and I was good to go. Turned out that the dealership was also cheaper than CS for the alignment.
