Thread regarding Ford layoffs

Trying to remain focused

It's become difficult to remain professional and focused even while doing minimal amount of work. Somehow it seems to me that I was less anxious during the cuts in 2008.
These layoffs will have a terrible effect on morale. Even those who survive will struggle with motivation and giving their best again?

Coupled with the fact that these have been going on since 2019 if you think about it. They have been threatening us ever since and these will go on probably for at least the next few years. It wouldn't surprise me if these become a permanent Ford practice unfortunately.

The 2008 cuts felt different to me. The economy was bad with GM and Chrysler facing bankruptcy. The cuts in my area were attempts to run the business with fewer people - teams were reduced, functions were outsourced, and remaining managers had to head up multiple teams.

This is feels more like 2019, with everyone expecting higher paid and higher seniority folks to be targeted. It feels more personal.
