Company Plan and Houston Attrition

I cannot speak for all of the companies, but for the early submission numbers I see:

  1. Houston 2026+ numbers are smaller than what management promised us a couple of years back
  2. Low cost centers are higher than what was forecasted a couple of years back
  3. Houston attrition stays remarkably high for the next few years as they continue to unofficially force people out

Do not fool yourself into thinking the company cares, no matter how many sappy videos they send out. Dallas has an agenda, and they will ruthlessly execute it, regardless of its impact for us to manage the core business.

If you are young, get out now. The momentum is clear. Why watch the ship sink from a 1st person point of view?

Union company plan basis is 10% attrition in 2023.

This is getting personal.
My main achieve with the company - 26 years until my PiL - was milking exactly 160K to 180k for my last 10 years. Along with the sticky-notes and esophogeal cancer clear.
Sweet ride.
No complaints.

@mzq Every time someone has the temerity to point out that you and your peers are creating your own problem, you label them a “kool-aid drinker”.

I don’t drink kool aid. It is a sugary beverage enjoyed by “normal” people.

If you don’t like your job/company, you are free to move on. The fact that most of you have not done so voluntarily says more about you than it does about Exxon.

I worked for Mobil, left for a few years and came back under Exxon, then they bought Mobil so I was back with the same group as before. Many great employees left, those that stayed were great BS’rs. Nothing has changed since my first year in 1990. I made my money in real estate investing.

Typical koolaid drinker at EM. You contribute to the problems - why not try to come up with solutions? Oh yeah-that woukd take deep thought and concern for fellow people.
BTW- I did leave and find another job and am healthier for it.

Hey OP, instead of whining incessantly about company politics and policy, get a job at a different company with different policies. It’s worked for many people and it can work for you too.

The reason why none of you are doing so is because you know that no other company or industry will pay you upwards of $160k per year to do basically nothing.
