Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

Culture

Guys

We all know that salaries and packages will be improved after this years record profit and Mike said this himself and he understands that they are losing people and the inflation is making it really hard.. We know that they will soften the aggressive in order to keep people from quitting. Only losers who have no other choice or FL’s are the ones who are still interested to stay there. So they will soften everything and give couple of perks, face lifts and a lip stick on the ugly lips but
Will this bring the old Culture back?

Without a sincere, real change … more of an overhaul of their HR leadership… I see no hope of a long term happy career.

I am not trying to bash anyone but the company is different from when I started 15 years ago. HR people who grow up in the very toxic culture can not really change overnight. Chevron needs new HR blood at all levels. From head to Toe.

Just venting after reading this horrible article that was shared here yesterday. I have never been to this site before until someone in my BU showed me the post yesterday.

I do not want to leave because my family and life are all stable but I am suffocating at the current HR culture

Just to match inflation the last two years would require a 20% raise. Anything less is a pay cut.

There will be low raises this year, just like last year, with reduced bonuses due to the abysmal safety record. MW said as much during the last town hall a couple weeks ago. Expecting more than that will only leave you disappointed…sorry to share the bad news, but honestly, the value of the stock and the size of the corporate profits no longer influence pay and bonuses…

I've been working here over 10 years and this company has gone down hill since MW took over. The transformation wrecked this place. Morale has never been lower and I've seen many leave. People have no job security with MW in control it seems. We seem to have constant layoffs with him in charge and non stop change that is destroying morale. It seems from. RM's they don't care about turnover anymore...

MW corrupted the company from the day he took over, more concerned with wokeness and diversity than business performance. It's too late now to try and resurrect the old Chevron (Way), its strongest advocates were purged in 2020.

Do you work in HR? Human Resources? Why does Chevron need so many HR people or rather why are all they always whining and complaining all day long like little pathetic losers on this site? I wish that CVX would cut down on the useless personnel in this group and perhaps we will see less cry-baby Karen types ranting for hours long on this site and using up valuable space here and at the office. There is no need for that many HR people at any company. Chevron is an O&G company first and foremost. Not an HR management/baby-sitting firm.

Howdy! Anyone know what is the date after which I can quit Chevron and retain 100% of the CIP bonus paid in 2023? Not having much luck on the HR Benefits site. Thanks in advance.

You may think differently when you get your 20-25% raise in a few months!

If a CEO really believes a significant change in culture is required, then they make the changes needed in executive leadership b/c it all starts there. MW has not indicated after over 5 years that he truly believes a big change in culture is required. He is white washing over it and using topical examples to appease the masses all the while he rakes in tens of millions of dollars a year sitting on the throne…….the people want more, communicate they want more via the CES but if you pay close attention he is talking way less ABOUT CES RESULTS b/c the change isn’t happening and he truly doesn’t have that as a priority.

I do not think you can get a job anywhere in HR unless you are totally woke. In other words, it would be difficult to find another job someplace else where you did not have the HR factor to deal with. I place the blame squarely on management. They should be the ones setting the leadership tones for the organization, not HR. HR will try to run the place if you let them, including who gets hired and fired.

Even if uncle Mike try to take her down and make the change, He may now be able to and the whole management team is benefiting from the abusive culture because they are in a position of power.

They know this will hurt the company on the long term but they are all at the door of retirement with big fat packages. If the company fails after their exit, they will blame it on the new management.

Wake up, live in reality… this is how it works. Stop whining and focus on what is important… Your Family
