Has anyone else who is hybrid gotten notice that their department will be working from home until further notice starting in October?

Minneapolis WFH is for employee safety. Another site discussed, and the WFH shift is already beginning is the Downtown Saint Louis MO tower.
I’m on the weekly calls.
This post isn’t talking about layoffs in October. It’s referring to emails that some Minneapolis employees have gotten telling them to work from home full-time starting in October.
The October layoffs under Cecere are due to the next year budgets getting finalized in September, simple as that. Then each department knows what their next year headcount is. So they layoff before the year end to meet the approved headcount. All the other oddball/twisted/conspiracy theories posted here are just wrong.
I'm not in Minneapolis, but the timing of October is probably because of those cops in the George Floyd case going to trial. Just guessing that a lot of teams in Minneapolis are trying to stay away from that area. I wouldn't consider this some conspiracy when it's Minneapolis in October. Besides, the election is coming.
I am super curious as to why the sudden change when they were so adamant about us going back to the office. Why now? Hmmmmm.....
Work from home notice sent out to a lot of Minneapolis employees. Full time remote as of October.
What city??????
You do wonder if U.S. Bank, their leadership, their managers and their HR people actually respect the 70,000 +/- rank and file employees or if the Union Bank debacle has really warped their per eption of reality and what successful banking is all about . . . . it's still a people business
What was the reason? And is your department centrally located somewhere where a geographic reason would necessitate it (ie monkeypox being particularly high)?
