My coworker got let go at 8 am. Anyone else?

What is HTHD?
It's a picture of a carrot on the end of a stick, stands for High Tech/High Demand and bumps the salary range up some, plus "eligible to be nominated for stocks". Note that it's a bump in range not actually salary. Those moved into it didn't get an increase if they were already in the range (which I'm guessing 99.999% were). I think it was to lure some outsiders in to certain areas as well as keeping the non-critical thinkers from jumping shipping.
It was like everything else from management in recent years, a self serving deception.
Seems like All of Agency (1000) got let go today. I’m thinking tomorrow will be PD,Marketing and IT.
IT. 2 people in the group were axed that I'm aware of. I was one of them. Both GRP. None of the FRP were touched as far as I could tell. LL5 did the dirty work to me.
What is HTHD?
Yes. IT and over 20 years. I know a number of others. The Ford people saw the email stating it was happening.
Yes. Got a meeting notice late last night for an early morning meeting. Couldn't have lasted more than a few minutes. Nice severance and can get my pension lump sum in 2022.
Got notice this morning. FRP, HTHD. My take is that they are moving the engineering jobs overseas. Looks like it is a pure cost cutting move.

Regarding your comment "but paid through end of month.", is that over and above the severance payment?
GSR here - meeting notice from LL5 sent Sunday night for webex this morning. LL5 read script, sent package to personal email. Ford Access eliminated right away, but paid through end of month.
Do you still feel good about being part of the ford family?
I was terminated this morning via a IM from my manager for a conversation. eMail is already nuked. I am taking care of some things online and went to access this site (which I had done before on my work computer) and it blocked me from accessing it. LOL......... Like we can't just use our personal computers or phones. Nice try Ford.
So glad we trained our mexican, brazilian, european, and chy counterparts. They are hiring south of border and overseas.
@tui+1ileLVem; Quality guy checking in. Was a TA 3 of the last 4 years. I'm in shock considering the tens of millions in recovery my team has returned over the last few years.

My teammate, a senior developer (HTHD, former FCG), found that his badge didn’t work this morning. He was turned away by a secretary (we never have a secretary) and told that today was his last day. I’m at a loss…

Yes there were top achievers let go during SRD. I can’t speak for everyone let go then but the ones who shared with me that their most recent reviews were TA were approaching a pension milestone. I was one of those let go and my most recent review wasn’t TA but I had received TAs in the past and I received very positive feedback in my most recent review. I was approaching a pension milestone.
There is a global town hall meeting on Wednesday. I assume everything will be wrapped up (for this round at least) by then.
I speculate that they didn’t offer voluntary because they wouldn’t get the people they wanted which is older people with a pension. Why else would they eliminate top achievers? Of course they pick off a few younger people just to “prove” the layoffs are random.
Fellow commenters, May I get a reply? What is HTHD? What is GRP? FRP?
I was let go this morning by my manager with very little information about my severance package...
@cmr+1ileLVem I believe some TAs were cut as part of SRD in 2019. Absolutely sickening. I can't even focus on work right now because this supposedly will go all week from what I've heard.
I was let go in 2019 from GM. GM set up some criteria:
- age >=50
- service years at GM <=3 (They can forfeit 401K match)
GM also picked some young people to let them go to cover up age discrimination. Some of these young people were recalled later and offered a lower salary.
Department director with HR sat in a conference room. Senior manager, one level above my direct report came to my cube to escort me to the conference room.
They could have reached the target so easy by going with voluntary packages. I dont understand why they decided to go involuntary.
Hello [PD Quality guy here, 22 years] .... You were Top Achiever with alllll that excellent experience? !!!! That's absolutely horrible !!!! I had to stop scrolling and reflect on this. I am wishing you a new job making even more $$ than before. But Wow. I am shaken that a Top Achiever was part of the layoff plan.

Lots of folks cut today, most, if not all, were HTHD. It's not a shield.
Former LL6 here. I was 59 years old when I got let go in 2009 so I feel your pain. When it happened to me I thought it was the end of the world. I was wrong. There is life after Ford. Don’t give up.
@uyw the way TSP LL3 doing it is he IMs you asking you to meet with him at that moment. When you join him in a meeting he reads you a script and then you get a follow up email with documentation attached. One target was presenting in a meeting this morning when he got the IM. Meeting adjourned.
3 supervisors in PTIM and 2 in Gee that I’ve heard of so far.
This stress is something that I do not need due to being 27 weeks pregnant.
It’s a slot machine running. Contractors and salaried no one is considered for long term.Only “HTHD” are safe.
Has the company reached out to those who will be eliminated today only or will they continue to set up meetings on a daily basis for the week?
What a horrible environment this management has put (and continues to put) hard working and loyal people through.

So far I've heard of 1 in Vehicle Controls, 3 in purchasing, and 1 in Dyno/Calibration engine systems.
I am Contractor in ford Model E IR/CEDTE team , Got call from my consulting company that my assignment is terminated effectively from Right Now!!! Thats horrible! They should give some two week notice or so to get prepare for next job. Are all contractors in Model E got terminated?
I find it interesting that quality is a priority but yet the first separations appear to be in quality.
Software Integration in Model E is letting go of contractual workers.

PD Quality guy here, 22 years. Was contacted by LL3 via IM asking if I was available for a Web-Ex. Scheduled an on the spot Web-Ex and read me the script. It's over. Have worked as D&R, PMT, Launches, Quality. Was a TA too.
Mine too. 5 prople I know got call today morning at 8 am
