We see evidence of this regularly. Current 8/29/22 UPOnline proudly spotlights Supplier diversity....an outsourced locomotive servicing company. This work used to be handled by UP employees. Another craft going away or minimized. I saw a similar company servicing a locomotive on a service pit just recently. Touché to senior leadership for highlighting Their values. If you haven’t figured it out, You aren’t one of Their values.

Yeah and here we are! Almost to September and the UP is still hiring for quite a few open positions, even though the OP said August of 2022.
UP jobs has 221 jobs open. Train crews, signal, diesel electricians, electronic techs,. I don't see how they going to go all contractors.
