Try to move to core groups to save your skin. Supporting teams may be good when everything is green but a slight red will put you on the chopping board.Good luck survivors. It is not about what if it happens it is about when it happens.Don’t ever take this chance for granted and don’t get caught off guard.

Why judge that anyone working from home is slacking? What's the difference between working at your desk at home where its quiet vs. working in a noisy table with several other people sitting 8 feet away and on their phones for meetings?
Working from home, the company actually gets MORE HOURS out of me than if I need to drive back a forth. Chew on that before judging, thanks.

This layoff at Ford is the second one I've gotten tagged in during my career. My advice to the "survivors" is the following:
- Spend some time each month on linkedIn or other job related sites to understand what skills are in demand with respect to your career role. Update your skill set if necessary, take classes, whatever is required. Do a job search from time to time as you would if looking for work to know what's out there.
- When recruiters/headhunters pester you with job offers without first reading your linkedin profile that says you're not looking, don't be rude to them and just say "no thanks" nicely. You never know when you'll need them.
- Try to transfer to projects or work that is known to be very important to the company if possible. That won't guarantee safety as evidenced by the ADAS cuts, but it decreases the odds of being selected.
Ya our group Crash Safety is safe. Only two Agency sacrificial goats for every call for layoffs from upper management. The standard slackers are still having fun working from home.
My friend who is a attribute engineer thought that development and testing may be outsourced but feature and attribute engineer will stay in an OEM. He was given HTHD pay bump and sticks. But he is cut.
yep, ADAS included. I was an HTHD GSR8 in ADAS assigned to next generation DAT3 & FNV development (software). Not anymore as of this week. Not sure how many in ADAS were affected, I only know of one other person.
