Thread regarding T-Mobile layoffs

T-Mobile has always been one of the most corporate and toxic companies

I find it comical that anyone thinks this company was ever "uncarrier". "Uncarrier" is and always has been just a marketing plot. T-Mobile has always been one of the most corporate and toxic companies out there. Sprint wasn't much difference. I can tell you from years of experience that T-Mobile has housed some of the most incompetent employees for years. People that can't even comprehend basic functions of their jobs.

@5ehq+1ijOiYEo is 100% right.

To anonymous, this ki---d me and is somewhat true "The constant trainings all but imply that if you don't see yourself as constantly on the verge of criminally disrespecting someone else, you're just not looking hard enough, and you must just be blind to your own flaws."

On the bright side, don't have to endure those cheesy scripted poor act scenarios where the employee picks up her purse to make room for an employee coming to the table, and have to endure a 5 minute chastising session about 'unconscious bias' about theft. Like c'mon an employee going to steal another employees property right in front of them? Does this mean they hire dishonest people in a professional environment?

Their videos admit that all humans have bias, but they just place way too much emphasis on guilt trip. And to force employees to recertify at least 4-5 of these videos every year is pure agony. I always chuckled at the "file an incident report, THEN help the victim with the gunshot wound" mindset.

You think Delan is bad, and she is but holy cr-p the lab is bad. A certain nationality will only hire another certain nationality. They lie, cheat, and let HCL into T-Mobile servers/items/and secure environments without NDAs. Srini and Sandeep ruined the lab, and let the lab get hacked almost monthly about the people they are hiring and HCL who was literally caught several times lying, covering things up, and stealing trade secrets. T-Mobile promoted them. Stay far away from them.

I was so disappointed today when I logged in to my email just to see job recommendations for Retail Store Manager positions, when I recently got my degree, and do not plan on staying in retail forever. There are lateral moves everywhere but no promotions. They do not actually value their employees, we have always just been another number (CAPEX). Then to see more layoffs. This isn't the same company I thought I'd be working for a few years ago.

I tend to agree with Tex Girl with a caveat:

John had his cult of personality, but he was also a savvy and ruthless executive in the boardroom with a documented history of dismantling companies when the direction of the industry or company called for it. We just got lucky that his goals and the employees goals aligned this time (See Global Crossing.)

I don't say this with malice, as I genuinely admire the man's business acumen, charisma, and energy and found him enormously likeable in person. In his hey-day, the SLT genuinely seemed to be having fun, and most of us were more than happy to go along for the ride.

That said, I never felt like my thoughts were policed or my ethics were in question under JL. The constant trainings all but imply that if you don't see yourself as constantly on the verge of criminally disrespecting someone else, you're just not looking hard enough, and you must just be blind to your own flaws.

Even if you're not at risk of layoff, unless you want to work someplace where saying "setting the record straight" may lead to an HR investigation for making anti-LGBQT comments, you should already have your resume dusted off.

Delan is toxic and will stab you in the front. Bellevue politics are the worst.

Toxic? Yes, but all corporations are full of people ready to drive an icepick into their coworkers kidneys to survive another round of layoffs. What's particularly nasty about TMOs "culture" is that it doesn't care about individuals, just the groups that they can check off on their corporate social responsibility checklist. It's not reflective of anywhere but the PNW.

When I started working for team of experts 6 years ago there was a real vibe that management cared.

Once John left all bets were off, management adopted a very toxic and terrible “hit x goal or I’ll make your life he-l!” mentality. Mike and Callie truly ruined the company.

Management has seen so many leaders get laid off that they do everything they can to throw agents under the bus nowadays. The call center I worked at wanted lines and insurance added at all costs to the point people began just adding stuff to accounts without the permission to do so.

Yes it’s toxic now but it wasn’t until John left.
