Yes, this was a real gut punch. I don't know the years of service distribution for everyone released, however with almost 30 years, not only did I want to work a bit longer, retire more on my terms, but also after that long working for one company that becomes a bit of your identity....not just loyalty but what you know and are used to. I know when getting up now, the first unconscious thought is that I don't have a Ford job to start the day. Really distressing. Thx, for listening.

Who is the pro ford person posting…wow! Ur outta touch. I have a relative who has a new 2022 explorer and the passenger rear window got stuck in the down position. Hear that is happening quite a lot according to other owners..conclusion ….more junk from ford…now ask me..something as simple as a power window they can’t get right….keep lying to ur self…something is definitely wrong at that company.
The sad part I found out that they just promoted more unqualified d-mbbells to LL5 after layoff ….same old ford!!!
This is to the id--t up there that believes GM and Stellantis are better than Ford… Lol.
Have you looked at Ford’s product line and compared it with the two?
Ford crushed GM’s market cap.
You are clearly disconnected from reality. Stellantis and GM always reach out to me with opportunities and I’ll always pass. I’ve worked at all 3 and Ford is #1
This was a business decision. Instead of crying on forums, go apply.
To the poster who said it's all about the money and if you're anywhere near or over 50....I agree. Two questions though, not sure you (or anyone) can answer the first. How is it that in a group of six, there were two at age 60 (women) with at least one over 30 years and the third (me) almost 55 gets the ax? Is it because the other two had already passed age and years of service that they are not considered for separation? Second piece, how does experience not help quality and recalls? I'd argue the reason for recalls is the cost cutting
No worries we will take ford's market share ;).
Who's the mo--n that mentioned Chevy??
LOL
GM and Stellantis >>>>>>>>>>>> Ford
Do not worry. The Real Fords are on duty to save you.
When you look at all the recalls and defective vehicles Ford makes it's hard to believe that anyone at Ford was "good".
It is ALL about the money. If you are over 50, anywhere near collecting any kind of benefit from the company after leaving, they are going to ax you. They have been doing this for years. It is NOT a place to "park". I'm not so sure the experience there matters anymore either, since they just seem to produce recalled vehicles.
That's the perplexing part of this. I would have even taken a demotion to another position if given the opportunity so that two things could have happened 1) admittedly the most obvious, that I could have continued a 29.6 yr career at the the only company I wanted to work for (until now) and 2) to provide experience and knowledge transfer to younger employees. However, as usual the shortsighted costs cutting is the priority. It will be interesting to see what the company and possibly the entire industry looks like say two years from now. Michigan is certainly guaranteed.....100% to be negativity impacted financially, demographically, and culturally by these and future actions. I strongly suggest everyone take stock of your long term goals and ambitions then ask yourself, is my company in the automotive industry going to allow this? Many will likely find the answer to be a resounding NO. However, do your own due diligence and decide for yourself. One last thing, if you disagree with this....fine, but don't respond with saying you're just a bitter ex employee or anything like that. If you have read this and understand it was mostly fact based and meant to be constructive.
As if Chevy is doing the right thing. All Are birds of same feathers.
When you let go folks very close to retirement - like 18 months it shows there is no heart at the top of Ford. I have been considering ordering a new 2023 Ford Super Duty. I’m changing my mind and might look at Chevy. I am a Ford retiree. This EV push will be the downfall of Ford.
Exactly. Areas like ITO have loads of loafers and incompetents still here. They keep cutting the technical specialists and keeping the useless people.
