Thread regarding U.S. Bank layoffs

Does anyone else’s boss insist on useless meetings?

Mine insists on a one hour team meeting every week, 30 min 1:1 meeting weekly, on top of 3-5 1 hour weekly meetings to discuss things that could’ve been done via email. Even books meetings on a Friday afternoon cause he has nothing to do and wants to feel important.

The guy just loves to hear himself talk.

And the kicker is this type of useless manager never gets fired. Even after YEARS of terrible TTUS results.

This happens everywhere. Meetings that should have been emails is basically a meme. Has anyone working at us Bank ever worked anywhere else? Literally anywhere else? Or is it just me

Mine only gave me two 1-1 meeting in the year a half that I have been working on this company with no banking experience before accepting this job. Completely sh---y management. Can’t wait to get out.

Managers of managers have schedules so packed with nonsense and non-productive meetings, they hire more useless middle managers to attend useless meetings. This entire class of managers could be let go, millions saved, the bank would become more efficient and nimble. They never add anything to the endless stream of meetings either.
