I truly believe restructuring will happen with the fiscal year. It is necessary to give guidance and educate opticians. Pharmacists have not been able to do that. I doubt they will get rid of VCMs, just divide them into Pharm and Vision Market Directors. Walmart truly does care about growing the vision center, they just have poor insights on how to do it and what customers want.
Walmart does not give five flips about vision centers. It is very, very obvious that the department is NOT considered part of Walmart. From the neglect from corporate to the lack of inclusion from division 1 store staff, it is evident.
The ONLY reason they’re still open, is because massive closures would affect the stock price negatively.
I mean……FFS, there’s not even proper frame labels to use anymore. There hasn’t been, for over a year.
Again, D49 is NOT a focus of the company.
If this sentiment is incorrect, then upper leadership should convey it, because this sentiment is felt across the company in stores.
I don't know where they would find candidates for a VCAM for each market. We currently can't even find VC managers, much less opticians. Stores in Denver were on reduced hours, or rolling closings this summer staffing was so short. It will be really interesting when the Associate Opinion Survey comes out for H&W. I'm sure it will be horrible. I work in Region 47, and with the leadership of our current Regional, I'm sure Region 47 will be one of the worst in the company
They’ve been saying that since 2014. Optical is myriad of broken promises and failed plans for the future.
