RE: Legacy or new -
Someone is always trying to cook up something new there, believing they have the 'next big thing' and working towards the 'pat on the back' from JG. But the 'next big thing' is all smoke and no fire; it goes nowhere.
Legacy work is simply supporting existing customers with patches or feature enhancements before they cancel. Regardless, nothing you do there really matters because the company is irrelevant. Your work there is simply 'theater'; you will never make it to Broadway.
Did all of you work in legacy areas or on the newer sectors SAS is expanding into?
The golden era of SAS has long past. An elite few built world-class skills because they carefully curated their careers over a long period of time while continuing to up-skill on their own time+dime. Many had to put up with less than ideal, to downright awful managers for certain seasons to see this thru. SAS Has fallen far from its former greatness and that can be laid directly at the feet of its founder and chief cultural architect. Proceed at your own risk.

It may be a Potemkin Marketing Village, just like the Potemkin Department I worked for. The work done is for show and of little to no use. But it looks good internally and externally.
It's not clear that they are selling software. Most likely, they service old renewals. So market all you like, no one is buying. It's a cake job, but working there long-term leaves you with few skills in the open market. Accept at your own risk.
@4eyo+1j17zNi6 Compensation doesn't matter here, but you bring up an interesting point around culture / bosses that do nothing. I'm interested in learning, and hoping that the bosses would at least provide some guidance there.
Do you like working for incompetent bewbs who earn multiples of your salary for doing nothing? You do? Jump on board my dude! Otherwise save urself and work somewhere with a future.
Proposing to be sold to who?
Just left after working there several years. They are proposing to be sold. It’s unstable esp in marketing, I’d say No
