Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

What’s the average turnaround?

I’ve been applying for a new role as my current one is a disaster. I haven’t heard anything back from the HR recruiter. I saw a few posts saying HR is slammed and running behind. Is this true? If so, about how long does it take for a recruiter to schedule a screening?

On a related note- how long do roles stay open here? I applied for something over two months ago and it’s still open and I’m still in the review stage. I’m assuming I didn’t get it but then why don’t they just close out my application as not selected? Are they just waiting to see who else applies? Normally I wouldn’t care but other posts on this site make it seems like you can gets “dinged” by a recruiter if you have too many applications out there and I plan in applying for some other roles. Anyone from HR with some insight?

Recruiters are red headed step child of "human resources." They are roles that have a level of insight to the business and should be managed with high professionalism. Recruiters sit in a lot of DEI objective meetings. They have insights into staffing demands, compensation, upcoming LOB hiring trends, etc. Not everyone in their role takes it serious or better they take it TOO serious. You get good recruiters and bad recruiters. A Good recruiter is able to manage personal relationships with their hiring managers. There are time to fill and target based metrics they should be meeting. On the outside things look like they are in shambles. My suspicion is that they have been instruction to drive 1) DEI objectives, 2) slow internal lateral moves and 3) consider outside talent first. I do not know exactly because I am not in those roles. All I know is that I have applied to countless positions in the past 2 years and they have led to nothing. I apply when a new role hits, give it 2 to 3 weeks and then withdraw. I am probably shooting myself in the foot for a 1 out of 5 of them but for the people who have moved recently the call came within a couple weeks for phone screen. I am not taking a role at BofA and working in the office 5 days a week. They seem to be the only ones expressing interest in town.

2 weeks to 7 months, depends on how much the hiring managers contacts the recruiter asking for status.

A long time. The first time I interviewed with them, I kind of sensed that I was in, but I had to follow up with the hiring manager, and it took two weeks.
After I left, and made an attempt to come back, they took a long, long time to get back to me. I sent follow up emails to the hiring managers, and the recruiter. 0 responses.
After a month, I gave up, and forgot about them, and finally received a rejection email that I wasn't selected, and won't be moving forward.

I had a phone screen with a recruiter two weeks after I applied. I didn’t hear anything for a month. Sent the recruiter an email, no response. My application still says screen in workday.

Sometimes they don't get back to you. Dont take it personally, it's a reflection on them. Unprofessional. No response to applicants from within or from outside.
