Thread regarding Fiserv Inc. layoffs

Joining Fiserv was a huge mistake

It has the worst environment and the most incompetent management on all levels that I have ever seen. Constantly getting overworked because so many people are leaving and then having to deal with constant refusals to backfill some of the vacated positions has been a tiring experience. Especially since all our pleas always fall on deaf ears. I'm tempted to join those who are walking away. And to think I was excited about joining!

I refused to work more than 40 hrs a week, and told my manager as much. I was already doing the work of two former employees, each who had 20+ years experience.

Conveniently, I was made redundant during the "Covid reduction" two years ago.

I noticed that my former mgr is now Linkedin-stalking my profile, and I had a recruiter call me, asking if I wanted to come back in a 100% remote role.

I told the recruiter, no thanks. I'm 30% better salary-wise, plus I have a better 401k match and a pension I will qualify for in a couple years.

I am sorry this isn't working out for you. This why us "200 malcontents" post here. It is because of this that leadership has people post here to try to change the narrative.

I left Fiserv earlier this year. I led, or attempted to lead, several teams. I was handcuffed ever step of the way. Unable to open backfills, unable to discipline or fire toxic and dangerous employees, unable to provide direct feedback to senior leadership about staffing challenges, mediocre pay, long hours, and some of the worst version of office politics I've ever seen.

Just a horrible horrible environment. They're going to drown their shiny brands in mediocrity if they keep bleeding talent (Clover for example).

It's not as if people in NJ are safe. A lot of contractors let go here. May be slightly better than other locations

I always wanted to join First Data. Then FB came along. fD was good before FB. Then he destroyed FD and now he is destroying Fiserv

It actually used to be a decent place until the FD merger. Sad that this is true across all BUs.

It's death by a thousand cuts at Fiserv. Sad and depressing atmosphere. If you want to keep your job you have to move to NJ. Who wants that. Very myopic thinking. Loosing a lot of good people. Cutting out a lot of the countries talent pool. This is a sinking ship.

I remember a recent town hall meeting where upper management publicly acknowledged that we were understaffed. And I’m the next breath said they weren’t going to do anything about it.
