If Ford REALLY wanted to get rid of poor performers, they would require managers do their job and document it properly, so they could FIRE them without pay! Why should ANYONE be rewarded for being a poor performer??????

Anyone above your direct supervisor has no clue as to who is a poor performer and who isn't. This is a game. LL6s will give the names of people they don't like in order to protect their friends and buddies. Like always. Then when the names given don't take the buyout, that list becomes the list for the next layoffs.

Just like in August. The LL4s and LL5s looked out for their buddies, and cut high performers that they didn't care about.

Its all about who you drink and hang out with.

@1qwo why would any sane person believe the contents of any email from ford “leadership” or HR? It is all spin and lets protect ourselves from future lawsuits. If all the invitees don’t take the hint and take the package voluntarily, then well we have the paper trail that says all those who we are now terminating were poor performers.
WISE UP stop drinking the koolaid and repeating the spin. This pattern repeats itself. If Ford actually eliminated poor performers when it said it did in the past, then why is over half the salaried work force non-performers? And why is the salaried workforce in general mediocre at best?

I guess by later this week when everyone has finally read it, you will see the light. The language is very clear describing bottom of the barrel awful performance. Its very clear. Like cut this dead wood, terrible workers. However, it's a voluntary program only. Makes zero sense from that angle.

@fsc+1j2zLpwa you are wise to question posters. The posters here are just repeating false stories when they say it is only for poor performers. The LL6+ put people on the list that they wanted to leave. Period, end of story.
Some might not get along with team members,
some the LL6 might want to get rid of because they feel their job is threatened by them,
some their team members might of done a whisper campaign about to try to protect their own jobs,
some might just be unlucky in that the LL6 wants to protect incompetent team members,
Some might not fit with the LL6 goal of having a youthful team,
Etc.

It has always been the case that the LL* manipulate the data to protect their buddies, other LL* relatives, buddies, special friends. Just look around and ask yourself how some of the people have managed to stay a Ford employee for decades. If they don’t have skills and aren’t doing work, ask yourself what value is that person providing? Sometimes they are the team snitch, sometimes they have a special relationship with another LLx, you get the idea.

Those complaining that they didn’t get a VSSP haven’t been paying attention over the years. It is quite simple to engineer getting an offer when you want one. Just do subtle things to irritate the leadership team. Recall that Ford is an applause only society, so just point out the leaders logic flaws and product flaws over a period of 6 months in a polite but noticeable fashion, you will get an invite. You know the buttons to push, if you didn’t push them, too bad.

What? I thought Ford had an evil plan to cut pension eligible employees and only cut others to avoid the appearance of discrimination. Cutting poor performers - how shocking.

To the poster who asked, ask your boss, they will tell you. It's poor performers only. What a shame.

Ford has always done this. If you want a package then be a low performer (Quite Quit).

OP, are you one of the greedy folks who are planning on retiring anyway and are mad about not getting severance?

Im genuinely asking as I joined Ford 6 months ago: How do people know that only poor performers got VSSP?

So if you want a voluntary you must be a poor performer. What an incentive!

I am not. I took a chance and decided to stay. By not getting the VSSP tells me that they want me to stay, at least for now.
