Look, you don't actually have to work 5 times as hard as everyone else. you chose to, but you won't be rewarded for it and the manager won't give you a pat on the back or even a pizza party. i know this, because I used to do the same thing but I stopped after realizing that nobody gives a sh-t and that there is no benefit or promotion waiting at the end and no spiritual reward for working hard at a company that thrives off sweatshop labor, either. being your boss' extra hard working little B is not of benefit to you, it is only maybe of benefit to your manager's reputation or to the bottom line if you actually do something useful for the business. if you chose to allow the company to exploit your labor by working 5 times as hard as everyone else, that's really on you, don't blame other people for doing the bare minimum to not get fired, they really are probably hoping you'll chill out a little and will treat them like co-workers and have some solidarity but you will miss that point if all you do is be taskmaster 5000. what's even sadder is that when the layoffs come the hard workers get laid off just as easily as the smarter ones that don't play themselves for the boss, as they can just decide to lay off an entire department, team or the manager can chose who they like and that easily might not be you despite all your hard work. hard work is not a guarantee at all of getting bump you up in priority for not getting fired, despite what your pastor may have told you.

I can’t help it. I can’t turn it off. It’s kinda ruining my life.
I would hope most people know it but I'm not so convinced. People have different motivations for working hard but one for sure is wanting to not get fired and wanting to skill up or or at least maintain skills. Some people also love doing their jobs even if they are underappreciated or underpaid but I'd say it varies.
