Thread regarding Fiserv Inc. layoffs

It's easy to say that to someone else

It is easy to tell others that they are actually lucky for getting RIFed because everyone deserves better. I don't feel lucky. Moreover, I am still very angry, because I feel cheated. I made extra efforts, I always tried to contribute as much as I could and our manager assured us that we should not worry. I learned a big lesson here and I don't think I will put work before my personal life ever again.

Take a time out. It can be for either mental health of like a sabbatical. Actually examine yourself and where you are in life. Just coming out of an experience like this, you may have developed habits that are not aligned with your long term goals. Come to grips with the anger. Examine if your alcohol use increased while working at Fiserv, and consider quitting alcohol during this time out.

Wow. Same speech our team got. Nothing to worry about.... Guess we had same manager or they all are reading same playbook of what to tell associates so they don't leave. I feel like I can hear them laughing because we believed the song and went ahead and danced so I understand your anger.

I am sorry this happened to you but don't blame your manager.
Your manager has no control whatsoever. In the new Fiserv, all leaders are mere figureheads taking direction from FB on every operational decision.
FB doesn't trust anyone and especially his leadership which is probably why he's making all the operational decisions. Sad state of the affairs

Not even people in BH were safe today.

I feel like this post should be forever pinned to the top of the Fiserv board.

It's just a way of people showing sympathy and looking at the silver lining. Nobody really means to say you are lucky. Of course it could be better in the long term

Yeah, I learned a long time ago. You are just a number and It’s just business, nothing personal. I heard that come from a Senior VP at Fiserv. It told me that your time is limited at this place, and there is no need to put in more than you agreed to. You are just giving them free time and your working for less money.

I’m sorry this happened to you. My manager says the same thing, but I am worried. No one is safe, except for maybe the people in BH.
