Thread regarding Fiserv Inc. layoffs

Was coming here as an analyst a huge mistake?

Recently hired analyst at BH here just watching everything fall apart before I even got my footing. I was hired on a 3/2 hybrid schedule that obviously isn't being honored in any way, I've watched higher ups in my business group leave or get fired, and I'm constantly hearing about how FB is complaining about this or that and to watch my back. I'm supposed to be here 2 years minimum but 3 months in I'm already feeling like my job's in danger despite coming in 5 days a week lately. What am I supposed to do?

Analyst here too, been here for over a year. Learned nothing, done nothing. The analyst program is such a sham. They have no idea what to do with us. Despite them advertising it’s a “great” place to build up your skills and enter the workforce, the majority of us have hardly learned anything, especially tech analysts. It’s such an antiquated, outdated company. No pay raises after our first year either - you’re going to lose a lot of opportunity if you decide to stay. I wouldn’t advise to stay any more than a year here, and things will just get worse. Good luck.

It’s not a good idea to invest you’re time and energy working for Frank unless he knows you personally and likes you. Otherwise you’re nothing in the organization and will go nowhere

You are the best judge since the result is different for different people depending on group, management and peers. If you don't like it learn as much as you can, keep your skills updated and keep looking for new opportunities

Setting aside working for Fiserv for a second. You should always being looking at your next position. It is possible that paying back your signing bonus could be beneficial when you next job pays significantly more. Two years at a company is becoming stale. You should switch employers more frequently than that if you want you pay to stay competitive. "Two years" used to be the minimum, but things have changed significantly in recent years.

Good luck on your future endeavors!

At a minimum start looking. If you are let go you won't have much severance to sustain you until you find another job. All indications point to the situation worsening beyond comprehension. Customers are looking to deconvert and those who can't will sue and seek damage.

If you are a recent hire expect to be let go regardless of your location . It’s going to be worse so go now

It's a horrible company now. I left earlier this year. The layoffs, reduced benefits, BYOD, Sapience, etc. Want to know the mindset of the executives running FD/FISV? Read the following article. Understand that Peter C. III, Frank B. and Guy C. are all senior Fiserv execs now.

Well, yeah…..it’s a mistake…..unless you like to work for a company that doesn’t give a damn about tenure, loyalty or job satisfaction. If those things don’t matter to you, you are in the right job!!!

I am sorry this is happening ti you. Your experience is why corporate tries to paint a rosey picture on this site. If you notice, they haven't done that this week!

If you took a sign on bonus either hang on as long as you can so you have less to pay back or leave. It’s is a stepping stone. Gain the experience. If you get laid off you should not have to pay them back.
