Thread regarding Fiserv Inc. layoffs

I envy those who were laid off

I'm not sorry or embarrassed to say this. I've been looking for a new position outside of Fiserv for a few months but it's been hard considering how little time I have to focus on it when I'm required to do more work than ever as cuts continue. I'm done with it. If they want to pay me to leave, I'm all for it. I'll be able to find a new job much more quickly.

Put in your Forty and go home. If you are lucky, your next performance evaluation will be "needs improvement". That will put you first in line for your goal.

They are making decisions based on numbers alone. Adjust your numbers to create the desired outcome.

Same. But this new round of mindless cutting helped wake me up and snap out of the old mindset I was carrying around. Holding on to a role that keeps ramping up demands can be an admirable scenario...IF the company you are doing it for acts with grace and gratitude. Doing your best for your team, your clients, your manager, peers--all great--until you realize it's not appreciated, understood or rewarded. And it's a hard realization to come to. You feel you're letting down all those groups and yourself. BUT as they say on the airplane, you have to put the mask on yourself before you can assist others. There's no vision, no culture left, more division and pockets of disconnected efforts than in the old oFS silo days. I'm not going to go the extra mile for an organization that treats people like meat. Make the time to find your next step, this is no longer a performance based system--let something wait--time to put you first for a change.
