Is it an ethics issue to job code a person simply to raise their wage when they actually continue to do the same job they were doing ? Example: cashier, less then a year employment, starts at 15.00, now job coded member champion, makes 18 yet only cashiers. Our club has a lot of these, seems based on who you know.

Everyone that works in our near department is hired as a senior meat cutter. All the bakery associates are either cake decorators or bakers. Go figure.
So much that happens at any workplace is based on who you know & how favorably you are viewed. The who you know part can be difficult to crack but the how you are viewed can be worked on.
Be visible doing your job right. I've fallen for the " they will notice & appreciate " and that doesn't work too well. You kind of have to put yourself out there and toot your own ho-n if you can. Not obnoxiously but a using your voice combined with your actions.
It's an ethics issue to worry about how much money someone else gets paid.
There is no Member Champion position. Should be from level 80 to a level 90 which is probably Member Specialist that starts at $16 per hour. Now if the person was not an internal they could have gotten work credits up to $17 per hour. That is the cap for our state. If you check Workday, you can verify there is no Member Champion.
