H1B's are safe becoz they can get a job in their home country. India is doing very well. A US citizen layed off is f'ed. No good alternatives right now.

h1b here and got cut. don't know what to do next. meta promised to help but not sure what they can do in this situation. i have to exit the country or i will be in serious violation of immigration law.

Companies have no obligations to layoff H1B holders first.

Depend on which projects the company want to close down or scale back.
