Thread regarding U.S. Bank layoffs

I just cant wrap my head around a lot of these comments on this board.

This is not the company it once was where they cared about their employees. They are outsourcing everything to India and quite frankly its obvious they dont care about their employees like they once did. The survey has become meaningless and I wouldnt be surprised if it is used against you if you are honest when you fill it out.

I think at this point you need to accept that if you want any change it will have to come from you by finding a new job. I am finding most of the competition so far is paying higher wages.

Leadership should be consolidating offices and trimming the fat to be more competitive but instead are worried about just having bodies in cubes.

Why would anyone invest in this bank. They are not a leader in anything. Everything is built on 70s & 80s technology and it's not been maintained well.

Well if you do the math, MUFG will be our 5th or 6th largest shareholder when the UnionBank deal is done.

Funny you bring up the survey. I mentioned it seemed like they were trying to push people out the door a while back. I haven't received a request to complete it again since.

Also remember that USB isn’t that different from the rest of corporate America. Look out for yourselves and your people (if you’re a manager) because that’s what the company does. The best way to play their game is to go somewhere else TBH.

It's 56
Buffett, who serves as Berkshire Hathaway's chairman and CEO, has been slashing his holding company's exposure to financial stocks – and bank stocks in particular – for years. And although the U.S. Bancorp position hasn't been immune to some recent downsizing in the Berkshire Hathaway equity portfolio, Buffett has left it mostly intact. He still own 53 million

Apparently Berkshire Hathaway saw it before everyone else and trimmed their stake by 63 percent so far this year, I can think of no bigger badge of failure than to have Buffett exiting in that manner, can't spin that one, SEC filings don't lie.
