If you put forth a lot of effort, your bosses will probably take advantage of you and ask you to assist lazy employees by doing work that is supposedly above their capacity. Doing that will provide you with nothing useful. I should know, I've been there. Instead, volunteer to teach the new diversity hires if you want a salary bump and to advance your career.

@OP, you may not have realized this until now but, the "diversity hires" are there to replace you.
Teaching them will lead to cooking your own goose (or turkey: Thanksgiving humor).
My strategy is to let them show how unqualified they really were to get hired and get weeded out of the system until we return to the world of best player plays!
Yep, I work smart for about an hour a day, then goof off the other 7 whilst supervision thinks it takes 8 hours to do it! Been doing that for about 2 years now!
Sometimes I wonder what everyone else is busy with, then I remember that everyone except supervision must also be doing the same thing!
Thank the Lord that supervision are too busy managing upwards to see what's right under their noses...
