It’s not something usually offered. I can only remember maybe three times when ER was an option*.
The last thing Cisco wants to do is give people the opportunity to choose to walk away with a payout.
*There is an exception, a lot of people at VP level and above have been given ER packages, not necessarily during a LR though.
Because I'd take it. Just like most other folks in my age group. And when we're all gone, Oprah isn't going to save Cisco.
The one who took ER normally were good engineers. This means cisco shoot its own foot.
It doesn't feed their narrative that nothing is wrong with the business. They just need to "rebalance" things. Cisco strong company. ER admits weakness.
