Now as a true public company it’s mostly owned by mutual funds like Vanguard. FDC was a private company in the portfolio of KKR a private equity group - the KKR fund that held the investment was primarily owned by the Walton family (Walmart). KKR was considered a controlling entity after FDC’s IPO in 2015 but it no longer is. The current Board of Directors is still aligned with KKR through relationships but KKR no longer is a controlling entity (an SEC defined category). The BOA JV had nothing to do with the ownership of FDC or Fiserv. One more thing - I hope Frank’s cancer comes back and he dies painfully!

Bank of America Merchant Services (BAMS) was a jo--t venture between First Data and Bank of America with a 51%/49% ownership split. The jo--t venture was not renewed and dissolved in 2019. Fiserv retained the major merchants and the rest are still being serviced by Bank of America North America (BANA) through Fiserv systems. Eventually once BANA gets their own processing systems, merchants will be migrated off of Fiserv systems to the BANA systems. All merchants have the option of going with Fiserv or BANA depending on their contracts.

Not sure if this is rhetorical, it's a publicly traded company.

You can see the major owners listed here https://www.nasdaq.com/market-activity/stocks/fisv/institutional-holdings

KKR has sold tons of shares, they were at 110 million in 2019, they now own about 10 million, putting it in 11th place.

The biggest owners are vanguard, t. rowe price and blackrock.

No. They were very entangles before, are still in process of splitting up (think how 51 Merchants are Fiserv and 49 Merchants are BoA)
