I've been at C1 for 3 years now and realize the high turnover in IT is because of mismanagement and them putting engineers into complex roles they can't do. Yearly calibrations are forced ranking of employees and are prejudiced you are expected to gain influence by doing presentations to staff and/or be involved in diversity and Inclusion initiatives to show you're woke. These things are used against people when ranking them and giving their reviews.

As much as I hate to say it, I think we are going to see layoffs of FTEs coming in the new year. As poorly as the company has managed headcount in the past, I think we can expect a big one since even well managed companies, which we are most definitely not, are laying off large numbers. I have been expecting this for a long time and have been making sure my war chest is full with each and every paycheck that I know may be my last.

Most of the tech contractor’s contracts are not renewed in Auto. Not sure it can be technically considered as layoffs. But people are losing their jobs. There are no news about next round of full time associate layoffs. I believe the leadership is waiting until early 2023 to confirm the next steps depending on where the Fed rate and economy is heading.

Hiring for Software Engineering jobs has slowed. All interviews are done across orgs within the company by a set of certified interviewers. Certified interviewers are given a number they are supposed to do a month. For fall, that number is 1/4 of what it was for Summer.
