Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Who will end up buying Intel?

Market cap will soon be under $100B. The company is hopelessly behind in process technology, LTD gave that away years ago. Products are just a rehash of the previous versions, little innovation. Intel management is still convinced that they are smarter than everyone else in the industry. I worked for Intel for more than 20 years and lived through numerous layoffs. The top (CEO) and bottom (grades 9 and below) have been cut off of the company multiple times during the previous layoffs. The real problems exist between the grades 10-14 and they will go largely unscathed from the this round of cuts as they have in the past. Recent articles about the semiconductor industry don't even mention Intel. It is all about AMD, NVIDIA, and TSMC. Intel has been dismissed by the press and analysts. Last one out turn off the lights... I wish you all the best during what will be tough times for both those who lose their jobs and those left behind.

Mo--ns just mo--ns, anti trust laws, US government tied to intel, lack of people with money and high inflation. No one is buying Intel time for market crash

Currently Intel is worth more broken up and sold. It won't take much more loss to make that happen. New regarding Intel will pick up at that point...after the recent layoff news, which will last a second.

Anyone betting that Brookfield isn’t just a 49% investor in AZ?

An acquisition might happen at some point, with the acquirer seeking to milk the remaining Intel revenue/profit and then selling off assets when the end is reached. It’s hard to believe this has become a possible path for Intel.

Broadcom planned to buy Intel after the closed on buying Qualcomm. Qualcomm deal fell through so the swizzled to software. They could decide to swizzle back to Intel given Intel fits their acquisition model perfectly

  1. #1 in their core space
  2. Lots of unfocused attempts in other markets where they are failing miserably
  3. Incompetent management
  4. Over staffed by more than 30%
