Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

So far I've spent 10hrs of company time this month dealing with our Anthem Blue Cross Flex Spending provider.

I can't believe we're are still purchasing services from this abysmal Flex Spending provider . I never had a problem with the old Health Matters provider. Every month with Anthem is another 2-3hrs to fight over using my own money. Insane.

My turn to deal with Anthem. Routine monthly Dr. visit yet somehow they're all hot and bothered about the August visit and need detailed information. Same amount, same frequency as Jan-July, but somehow August is suspicious. I miss United Healthcare.

Yet somehow many are able to work while on hold with Anthem. Which like OP I am currently doing now because they kicked back paying for a covered dental procedure despite having a detailed invoice and letter from the Dentist explaining why the procedure is not an elective one.

Anthem claims there is a so-called firewall between the insurance and flex benefit administration sides but I have evidence that the flex benefit side is acting as an insurer deciding what is or is not medically necessary well beyond the fact that said procedure meets the flex spending requirements.

Checks and balances should extend to a true separation of insurance company and flex spending provider. The previous provider had the independence, and their actions did not cause one to think that decisions were being influenced by their parent company.
