I told my wife that today was my last day… I’m officially laid off. I thought she’d be upset but instead she said “so no phone calls or emails to worry about?” Nope, I replied. So let’s celebrate, she says and proceeds to nudge me to the bedroom. So I guess you could say I got laid off twice in one day?!! Thanks Fiserv!

another kind of Happy Hour Specials!
The dishonesty of this company is shocking, insulting, and so damaging.
Glad you got away
Thank you for this post! I got laid off twice the day I was laid off this week, too. ;) ;) Thank goodness for supportive significant others. To others in this post, I feel stabbed in the back as well. Just how sudden it happened, with a manager assuring me of my job recently, too. Not the way I saw it happening after double digit years of service and dedication. I hear, though, that people who are laid off from Fiserv, usually have better outcomes, afterwards. That gives me hope. And I hope it gives you all hope, too.
As I forewarned my wife of 28+ years of this potentially same outcome today last night she said something along the lines of something like “if they are going to let go of someone who works as hard and is so devoted to your job as you then that is their loss, not ours.” Again, we have been married for 28+ years. That is probably the zenith of kudos that I will ever get ;)
I recently left on my own after 20+ yrs, I was feeling physically ill everyday. After going to a competitor and taking a pay cut I have no regrets. Some times you gotta do what’s best for your health.
When Fiserv lays off their incel business unit, those folks won't have the same "payoff" when they get home.
Best comment I’ve read today…m gonna get laid off twice today too ;)
Sounds like you married a winner!
This comment wins the internet today. I just showed my husband and he cracked up. I am in the same situation as you. It really hurts to feel stabbed in the back. Keep your head up.
